My Approach u0026#038; Philosophy
Keep It Simple The main reason to transition to an Access database should be to streamline your workflow with the backing of a relational database. This, in turn will allow you to work more efficently and most importantly, save you money. My goal is to deliver a simple and efficient database that anyone with familiarity to your workflow can sit down and start working with little to no training. Access Background NOT Necessary My databases function more like traditional software programs than an Access database. Previous working experience with Microsoft Access is not necessary. The user interface will guide you in the right direction.
My Development Process
Phase I | Learning Your Workflow During this initial phase, I like to discuss your current workflow and get to know the tools you are currently using, whether it involves multiple Excel spreadsheets or simple pen and paper forms. The better I understand your workflow, the more efficiently I can develop your database. This will, in turn, save you time. If you have existing electronic data I can include importing your historical data into the quote. After our discussion, I will compile a quote which includes a summary of the scope of work to be completed. Phase II | Database Development The development phase begins after the quote is accepted. During this phase I may contact you to discuss specific issues that surface during development. Phase III | Demo Once I feel that the database is in a stable working state I will deliver a demo version for your review. The demo will be a fully functional database, but it will expire in 15 days. During this trial phase, I encourage you and your team to demo the database and provide me with feedback. The demo is intended to test the user interface and it various functions. Please keep in…

The only way for the quoted price to change is if you request specific changes and/or substantial modifications from the original scope of work outlined in the agreed upon quote. Access Database Consulting/Support If you have an existing database that needs a quick fix, update, or slight change I offer a consulting rate which is a flat rate for the first 90 minutes then by the hour. Tutoring First let me state the following… I WILL NOT DO YOUR HOMEWORK!!!! However, I will help you learn the necessary skills to do it yourself. I do offer tutoring at a reduced rate please contact me with details.
I started developing Access databases out of necessity back in 1999. From there it grew from simple data crunchers to managing my movie collection to full blown applications to run small businesses. After earning a bachelor’s degree in Meteorology, I began working in the healthcare industry on the administrative/IT side of a medical practice working with a well-known Practice Management/Billing software package. This experience has provided me with the understanding to know what works and what does not in terms of working with and manipulating data in a database. I’m lucky enough to live in the beautiful Sunshine State with an hour drive to Walt Disney World or the Gulf Beaches. I enjoy photography and when the time permits, golf. From time to time, I also dabble in graphic u0026#038; web design. Most importantly, I am a devoted husband and father of a precious little girl.
